Meadow Cottage is an open plan dome-shaped Manx cottage, inspired by the shape of a Celtic roundhouse. It has a super king sized bed, lounge area with wood-fired stove [expected to be available by Autumn/Winter 2018] and 55" TV with Freesat, wi-fi, kitchen area (including dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, oven and microwave) and shower room.
For weekly bookings we supply a welcome pack usually consisting of bread (brown or white), butter or margarine, milk, jam, biscuits, and some fruit. Tea, coffee and sugar are also provided in the cottage.
The cottage is set in the grounds of Ballawyllin Farm adjoining our meadow which we are gradually converting to a wildflower habitat. It has its own outside patio area for relaxing and enjoying the spectacular view down the Baldwin Valley, local birdlife and wildlife. The cottage has shared access to an outdoor hot tub and sauna set in a separate patio area.
Access to the cottage from the parking area is via a decking walkway, the second half of which has a number of flights of steps. The cottage itself is single storey, with a low threshold from the patio area through the double entrance doors, and a low threshold to the shower. Due to the steps on the access path the cottage is not suitable for those with limited mobility - Orchard Cottage has step-free access.
The cottage has been graded 4* Gold. The price per week is £600 on a self-catering basis, and includes towels and electricity. In the winter we provide one bag of logs for the fire for every two nights' stay, with additional bags available for purchase if required. Weekend breaks (min 2 nights, starting either Friday or Saturday) are available in off-peak periods. Shorter stays during the week are also available in the winter months.
