Relax ... at Ballawyllin
Self-catering and B&B accommodation in the beautiful Baldwin valley on the Isle of Man
Welcome to the website of Ballawyllin Farm in the beautiful East Baldwin valley on the Isle of Man, a perfect place to relax and enjoy all that the Island has to offer. We offer self-catering accommodation in a refurbished one bedroomed 19th century Manx stone cottage and two open-plan dome-shaped Manx cottages inspired by the shape of Celtic roundhouses (Orchard and Meadow cottages). All three cottages have exclusive use of their own electrically-heated cedar hot tubs. We are about to install solar panels (Dec 2020 / Jan 2021) to generate most of the annual energy requirements for the three cottages by renewable means.
We also have B&B accommodation available in the main house, and we have received the Breakfast and Harvest Awards for our delicious breakfasts made using local/organic ingredients.
Our B&B currently remains closed as we are dealing with a higher volume than usual of short-term self-catering stays.
Ballawyllin Farm is owned and run by Neil and Graciela Taverner. Neil grew up on the Island and can trace his Manx ancestry back though his mother's line to the 1600s near Laxey, and Graciela is from Mexico. We speak both Spanish and French. We have a family of three children, plus a cat, flock of eight chickens and a beehive, and enjoy sharing Ballawyllin with local wildlife including rabbits, hedgehogs, house martins, woodcock, pheasants and pipistrelle bats. We grow our own apples, plums, and blackberries, and are in the process of expanding to a wider range of fruit, vegetables and herbs.
